We did it! 6 days 13 hours 58 mins.

“What a team! We even suprised ourselves at how good we were."

The Race Across America - is a great big hairy scary, juicy challenge, an annual 3,000-mile west-to-east coast bike race. We ride through day and night, we cross 15 states, some severe mid-summer desert and two major mountain ranges which rack up a total climb of 108,000 feet which is four times the height of Everest. This is extreme sport at its most absurd; the worst accidents are to those who fall asleep in the saddle. By riding as a relay, our target is to get from one side to the other in seven days. And stay awake.
- The United Eight - the first thing you need to know about us is we're phenomenally cool and sure to be better-looking than any other team out there in the big race. The other thing is that we are pink and proud of it. And finally, we are raising money for CLIC Sargent, the cancer charity. CLIC Sargent's colour is pink - which is why we are pink too. You see, it makes sense. Riding 3,000 miles in seven days doesn't make sense. But doing it in pink does.
